The Bideford agency’s client base is now more diverse than ever, including property portfolios, hospitality & retail, food & drink, and more.
Further expansion of the agency’s footprint is significant, particularly in wider commercial markets; and this is where you’ll make a difference. With the support of your lead partner, you’ll not only work behind the scenes on strategy and operational transformation, you’ll also take the lead on driving new business from a wider cross-section of SMEs. This, whilst maintaining retention rates the envy of the industry – with 9 in 10 customers choosing to renew with NFU Mutual – will ensure the continued success of one of the region’s prominent insurance players.

In addition to steering a successful insurance practice, you’ll also take a high-profile role in the local farming community as the region’s NFU Group Secretary. The National Farmers’ Union (NFU) represents the voice of agriculture up to the highest levels. This role will place you at the heart of the local farming community, championing and representing their interests, whilst also benefitting from the perfect insurance cross-sell opportunity. The roles are intrinsically linked.
Ready for the leadership spotlight, you’re already a confident sales or business manager, well versed in juggling the demands of a diverse client base and busy team alongside your own performance.
Your inherent drive for results and commitment to client care will inspire others to follow and seek out new opportunities that grow the agency’s footprint across both farming and non-farming business.
Walking into an established Agency, you’ll relish the opportunity to bring new ideas and influence the changes needed to support and future-proof your business.
Previous experience of working in a regulated sales and service environment such as Insurance or Financial Services is preferred, though not essential. More importantly, a passion or active involvement in rural affairs or agriculture will ensure a natural synergy with our core business and the Farmers’ Union.
As an Agent of NFU Mutual and a Partner with the existing Agent in the NFU Mutual Agency network, you’ll be joining an established business in an existing office, so won’t need to make any up-front capital investment.
As a self-employed Agent, your income will be built into the Agency financial structure. Your drive, vision and personal ambition are the only limit to your future earning potential.
