As a Partner in the Cambridge Agency, you’ll have the unique opportunity to run and develop an already established insurance business alongside the current experienced business partner.
The Cambridge Agency enjoys the perfect balance of being in a lively city, which is well connected and easily accessible to London, and being close to stunning countryside. Following investment into the business, the agency will soon be relocating to a modern business park, which is perfectly placed to support the local market, maximise the huge potential of this growing business and raise the profile of the agency. In this self-employed role you’d be joining an experienced and knowledgeable team in the NFU Mutual Agency Network who already successfully provide insurance and financial services to both farming and commercial clients.
This is a team that puts customers at the heart of everything they do. It’s what the agency’s reputation within the local business community has been built on. Building on this success, your role in this high-potential agency will be to focus on driving new business growth across the agricultural market. Leading from the front, you’ll play a key role in forging relationships with new commercial clients as well as developing strong relationships with an existing loyal customer base.
As a self-employed business partner, you’ll develop strategies to grow the business in the commercial space. Your day to day tasks will include motivating, supporting and developing your team to consistently deliver excellent results whilst you deliver your own personal sales performance, providing a valuable contribution to the agency achieving its targets.
Ready to be your own boss, you are sales focused and will relish the opportunity to create business plans and implement strategies that provide a professional and personal service to commercial businesses.
An excellent communicator, you’re great with people from a wide range of backgrounds and can easily spot opportunities and develop new business. A strong and professional leader, you’re a confident influencer who’s used to motivating a team.
Collaborative, positive and supportive, you know how to recruit, reward and develop a strong team to help you achieve your ambitions whilst ensuring all relevant regulations and standards of compliance are met.
You may have knowledge of insurance or finance, but as our existing Agents come from a broad range of backgrounds, it’s more important that you know how to use your entrepreneurial flair and clear vision to grow your business.
As an Agent of NFU Mutual and a Partner with the existing Agent in the NFU Mutual Agency network, you’ll be joining an established business in an existing office, so won’t need to make any up-front capital investment.
As a self-employed Agent, you’ll have a 1st year estimated OTE of up to £60k with genuine prospects for growth. Your drive, vision and personal ambition are the only limit to your future earning potential.
This unique self-employed opportunity gives you the autonomy to grow an existing business with the backing of a major organisation whilst enjoying the freedom of being your own boss.
As well as investment support, you’ll also have access to a full range of courses at our dedicated Training Academy; including sales, business and finance planning, team recruitment and NFU Mutual products. We’ll also support you to gain your Chartered Insurance Institute certification.
The National Farmers Union (NFU) represents the voice of agriculture up to the highest levels, on both national and international platforms. For more than 110 years, the NFU and NFU Mutual have enjoyed a close relationship, working together to provide a first-class service to the farming and wider rural community.
As an NFU Group Secretary you’ll play a major role at the heart of your local farming community. You'll champion the interests of local farmers, arrange local meetings and events, recruit and retain members and keep them up-to-date on agricultural policy. With full backing from the NFU, you’ll have access to expert advice and specialist support on everything from policy and increasing membership to marketing and media.
Combining your duties as an NFU Group Secretary with your work as an Agent of NFU Mutual gives you the chance to make the most of new opportunities for your agency, as well as introducing what the NFU and NFU Mutual have to offer to a wider audience. The roles are intrinsically linked.
NFU Mutual is an award-winning insurance and financial services business offering high-quality products and services to a range of customers, from individual policyholders to major businesses. Through our exceptional personal service and honest advice, we develop long-standing relationships with our customers and retain on average 95% of our business each year. We are proud to have a network of more than 300 agencies across the UK. Our agencies are run by self-employed Agents who enjoy a unique opportunity to build, lead and grow successful local businesses, typically in partnership with one or more other Agents.
